So much more!!!
So I fell off the grid when I left for Ukraine. I was updating a private Facebook page with my most personal thoughts and events that were happening there. There is so much I
want to share and I don't know if I should do a series of small posts or one HUGE one. I want to keep updating you and encouraging you to step out in faith. God does not disappoint!!!
Our adoption is complete! We are home since January 26, 2019. We are officially a family of 5. Nina and Katya now have their Forever Family. The words Forever Family have such a different meaning to me now then when this began. I slightly understood what "Forever Family" meant when this journey began in August of 2017, but now I know I had no idea. So let me explain my meaning of "Forever Family".....
A "Forever Family doesn't just affect the immediate family, It affects or ripples down and up. Here is picture taken on March 10, 2019. It includes Our immediate family, Richard, Terri, Erynne, Nina, and Katya. It also includes our adult son Jon and his fiance Emily and Richards Mother, Elaine, Father, Ray and his brothers Ryan and Raymond. This is our "Forever Family". There are not words to tell you of the love in this picture. The late night calls and texts for prayer. Richard and I didn't just gain two beautiful daughters, but dad and mom gained 2 beautiful granddaughters and Ryan and Raymond gained 2 sweet nieces and well Jon and Emily welcomed 2 sisters that will forever be a part of their lives, but Erynne, well Erynne welcomed the two sisters she had prayed about for so many years. two best friends, two partners in hard times and fun times. They are sisters, they fight and cry. They yell and learn. They love like only sisters can. This is our "Forever Family"
As I am writing this tears are flowing down my cheeks tears of love, tears of Awe of our great God, tears of so much change, tears of thanks, and tears of my overflowing heart. I
now love in two languages. I cry for the orphans I
couldn't bring home. So many special kids that God allowed me to meet and love and minister to. I was allowed by our great God to meet some of the most wonderful people who helped me so much in Ukraine. Without them I would not have made it 96 days in a foreign country away from my family and my praying church. Senya and Oksana and now my tears flow so hard I can't see. They will forever be my Ukrainian children. The love they showed me was nothing short of Jesus' love for us. They sacrifices so much for me and my girls. They gave me respite when I needed it most. They gave me security when things were falling apart. My heart is so full of love for those two special people. Jesus lives in their heart and it shows in everything they do. In a later post I will go into more detail about their story and all that they did for us. Then there is Igor, when I think of him I think of how God lead His people in Exodus 13:21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lad them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night. Igor led me around Ukraine constantly for no gain of his own. He was always eager to help even when he was busy.
I am going to try and post every couple days to get you caught up to today.
Thank you for your prayer and support through this incredible journey.
